About the Center

JARC’s mission is to promote strong communities, businesses, and households to ensure that people who work do not live in poverty. JARC provides high-quality skills training and support services to help lower-income and unemployed workers achieve self-sufficiency. JARC’s job training programs, called the Careers in Manufacturing Programs (CMP), provides low-income adults with technical skills training combined with bundled supportive services. JARC targets strategic skills gaps in the manufacturing sector: Computer Numerical Control (CNC), Press Brake, and Welding. JARC designs its programs around two strategies: the Sector Model of Workforce Development and the Center for Working Families (CWF) Model of Asset Building. The CWF Model is a three-pronged approach emphasizing bundled support services, primarily financial capability, public benefits screening, and employment coaching, to help families build financial self-sufficiency.
