Youth Workforce Hospital/High School Initiative

An initiative of the Michael Reese Health Trust, the Youth Workforce Hospital/High School program is a collaborative pilot project tasked with creating a sustainable and replicable model for effectively linking Chicago Public Schools’ Career and Technical Education students with employer provided work-based learning opportunities that align fully with the Health Sciences student development curriculum. Hospitals agree to host interns, provide job shadowing, and implement service learning projects. Personal mentors guide students through certification testing and post-secondary planning.
