Statement from the Co-Chairs of the Board of Directors of the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership (The Partnership) and Chicago Cook Workforce Innovation Board (WIB)
CHICAGO – The Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership’s (The Partnership) founding CEO, Karin Norington-Reaves, resigned her position at The Partnership effective Saturday, March 19, 2022. We are grateful to Karin for her decade of leading The Partnership’s team of dedicated and talented professionals, creating and implementing innovative programs benefiting job seekers and employers. The innovations developed during her tenure in creating programs and services serving tens of thousands of job seekers and employers are renowned in our city, region, and nation. We are thankful for her leadership and unparalleled commitment to her life’s work: economic empowerment through workforce development.
Illona Sheffey-Rawlings and Patrick Combs will continue to serve as Co-Acting CEOs to ensure the great work we do as an organization continues uninterrupted, with an unwavering commitment to service.
We wish Karin all the best in her new endeavors as she takes the next step in her 30-year career in public service.
About The Partnership
The Partnership is the non-profit umbrella organization that oversees one of the largest public workforce systems in the country. As the designated administrator of federal workforce development funding for the City of Chicago and Cook County, The Partnership manages a network of approximately 70 community-based organizations, including American Job Centers and Career Centers, serving youth and adults. We also oversee a diverse portfolio of workforce initiatives representing corporate and philanthropic funds leveraging non-federal workforce development funding.
