The Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership (The Partnership) is facilitating a modification to the local plan for workforce activities in the City of Chicago and Suburban Cook County. As a part of the modification, the WIA Program Year 2014 (July 1, 2014 – June 30, 2016), PY’14 Title I funds in the amount of $45,577,153 will remain the same. This modification serves two purposes; 1) Per WIA Notice No. 14-NOT-01, The Partnership is approved to transfer up to $1,103,863 to “Transition Activities”. The Transition Activities will assist in the transitioning from the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). These funds are made possible by the reduction between the following funding streams, Adult-$321,864, Dislocated Workers-$451,929 and Youth-$330,070; and 2) The transfer of $1,500,000 between Dislocated Workers and the Adult funding streams.
A copy of the budget and planned registrants will be available for public review and comment beginning January 22, 2015 through February 23, 2015 at The Partnership administrative office located at 69 West Washington-Suite 2860, Chicago, Ill 60602.
